The Art of our Era:
Contemporary Art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art

Contemporary art is characterized by a proliferation of styles and media that is continually growing and changing. Artists respond to domestic and international events as well as to each other with a stylistic vocabulary consisting of traditional and innovative art elements. Beginning with works from around 1960 this program will address the art and expression of the current era. Discussion will focus on the stylistic innovations of a variety of artists including Andy Warhol, John McLaughlin, John Baldessari and Sharon Lockhart.
